Thing to do when bed ridden

As is obvious by the title, guess where I am.
Currently going to be residing here for at least a month. With my laptop for company... not to bad considering I complain I don't get to spend enough time with it.

Off the top of my head, things to do
1. Socialise (rather learn to Socialise) - Already got this book on my bedside

2. Blog. Even if you're a useless writer. (Time is on your side)
3. Plan the Wedding!!! (T minus 8 months)
4. Learn stuff online
5. Chop vegetables and improve chopping speed and efficiency

Have begun with number 2. Here we go!

Claim for Vintage - The Polaroid

I won this (in my eye) beautiful Polaroid Supercolor 635 in a small lucky draw held when I was about 5 or 6 years old. The quest now is the search for the film reel to use this machine once again. The excitement of the instant photograph is bubbling inside.

Sadly, the film reels have been discontinued and Ihave no idea where to start looking :(

Left for dancing..

Just a lonesome forgotten shoe, while the owner dances her night out somewhere around.

Guru Granth Sahib & Islam

"Let mercy be your mosque, faith be your prayer-mat, and honest living your Quran"

So says the Guru Granth Sahib, and I was just delighted to find that out.

I'm yet to discover the origins of this translation, but if it is truly verbatim.. Go Gurus!

My preliminary google searching yielded various petty debates on whether the Sikh Gurus were muslim to have written this. I'm really hoping people stop being so insular.

Anyway, the picture above is of a mosques in Sharjah at, what is called, The Corniche. Woke up at 5 in the morning for this - dad was happy for the early-rising, but I don't think I'll be repeating that anytime soon :)

Sailing

My FIRST sailing outing/expedition/experience (I can't figure out the right word!!)

I had no idea you could rent a boat (it has a technical term which I can't remember right now) and sail off into the Arabian Sea. We crossed the Gateway of India, magnificent structure that it is.

I need to get a night shot of India Gate to match this.

Kala Ghoda Festival

Every year, Mumbai hosts a kick-ass Arts & Cultural festival called the Kala Ghoda Festival, held in the Kala Ghoda area of South Mumbai.

This year, I got lucky and was there amidst lots of installation art, music, photograph galleries, shopping stalls (with really out-of-the-box stuff) and yummy food!

I missed an African drum performance unfortunately... landed one day post that evening.

Everything happens on the streets..LITERALLY EVERYTHING. The following installations were all hanging by the trees...

And finalement... that's my best-est friend being followed by me, a la paprazzi, through the festival streets.
